plan.com are proud to announce over £72,000 has been raised for Rebecca House Children’s Hospice
The much-anticipated Santa's on a Bike event, scheduled to take place on Saturday 7th December, was unfortunately called off due to the extreme weather conditions brought by Storm Darragh last weekend.
This year was set to be a landmark occasion, as plan.com hoped to commence the ride out on Victoria Street, outside their office building for the first time. The Santas were eager to escape the elements and enjoy some mince pies and hot beverages in the reception at No.5 before setting off on their jolly journey.
“It is with a heavy heart that I officially announce the cancellation of Santa’s on a Bike 2024 this Saturday, due to the imminent arrival of Storm Darragh, bringing extremely high winds and heavy rain to the island. This comes with huge disappointment to myself, the brilliant Santa’s on a Bike Team and absolutely everyone involved in the event, but we of course have to put the safety of our Santas first.”

Despite the stormy setback, the spirit of the event shone through in the remarkable fundraising efforts that continued behind the scenes. Santa's on a Bike 2024 raised an incredible £72,000 for Rebecca House Children's Hospice. This contribution will help the hospice continue to offer the highest possible standards of care and support to each child and their families, to enable them to cope with their illness and lead as full and normal life as possible.
Organisers expressed their gratitude to the community for the unequivocal support:

“With a massive thank you to the Isle of Man Constabulary for their support and to every single one of you who has donated, given raffle prizes, decorated your bike, bought a Santa suit or a tombola ticket and everything else you’ve all done to get involved – we could not do it without you and I promise this will never put us off. We were so excited to start this iconic island event outside our office this year so we will do everything in our power to get our Santa’s back on their bikes in 2025.”
